About this gig
Although this is a new venture for me, I have background experience in theater and music, learning my first British accent while still in grade school. I have also spent a lot of time reading stories to children, something I loved as much as they loved listening!
American born, I spent 16 years in the southern part of the UK, giving me firsthand experience in British RP, Estuary English/Cockney. I can emulate Transatlantic, Australian, South African and Kiwi (New Zealand), drawing on specific people that I've known with these accents. I'm working on Scottish now.
In the US, I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, utilizing the newly-recognized Seattle/PNW accent. I've also lived in California, the Upper Midwest (Wisconsin and Minnesota), the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (Yooper), New York, and now in Mississippi, where Southern is the thing.
I also read/speak a little Scandinavian (Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Icelandic) giving me more accents to work with. If in doubt, ask!
I will consider any material, but reserve the right to refuse offensive/explicit content.
Ask about my teen daughters (Emberskydragon and SuspiciousMilk) who can also voice characters with me as gig extras!

I'm a self-published author and lifelong writer. Born in the US, I also spent many years in the UK meaning I can write in both American and British English (and formerly worked with Australian clients.) I'm also happy to proofread and edit - something I have done for Chinese clients in the past. No! Never! I hate AI voices as much as you do! Only a human can give genuine intonation and inflection.
