FAQ
What genres do you mix and master?
I am open to anything but I am most experienced with EDM.
How should I prepare my stems for sending?
44.1+kHz WAV. 32bit/24bit + headroom. Undithered Keep any processing on each stem intact. You must label group stems as such. Combining stems to reduce the stem count complicates my job and will not allow me to produce the result you paid for. Name stems clearly. ZIP please. Quality in, quality out!
How do I send you my stems?
Once you place an order with me, you'll be able to upload your ZIP and/or WAV files to the order page in the designated requirements section. Let me know if your files are failing to upload and I'll advise you on a suitable workaround.
Can I send a project file instead?
No. Even if we use the same DAW, consolidated audio stems are a requirement and should be all that's necessary to complete the work.
Are you happy to revise the delivered mix/master on request?
My #1 priority is finishing every project with work that you are satisfied with. It's never guaranteed that our visions for the finished track align right off the bat, so don't hesitate to reach out and mention anything you'd like me to change or think could be improved upon.
Why is completely AI-generated or AI-separated material not allowed?
1. Poor sound quality and separation hinders certain processes, 2. Calls into question the ownership of the content and legality of subsequent distribution. Bootlegs, however, are fine as long as it's predominantly your own work and mostly consists of stems exported cleanly from your DAW.
How loud will the final master be?
As loud or quiet as you need. I've worked on plenty of music that happily punches above 0 LUFS (absurdly loud) and some that need not exceed -10 LUFS (whisper quiet) so I am ready for anything. Either way, I avoid compromising the overall quality of the mix for loudness.
What sample rate and bit depth will you deliver the master in?
44.1kHz 16-bit WAV and 320kbps MP3 unless you require any other format(s).
What software do you use for mastering?
I use a range of plugins like Ozone, Gullfoss, GClip and just plain old EQ. I never use AI to dial settings in for me, just my ears.
What DAW do you use?
Ableton Live 12 Suite.
