Yes, you do, there are lot of app dev by odoo OCA that free, but you need to pay extra if your app sell by thirth party
How do i know the app i will install good or not?
The answer is all of the provider try their best, but some app did with not good work, so it this case it about experience, you just need to ask me, i will give you some suggestion, i have fails 1000+ time i know what is good
