I will reverse engineer 3d scans and convert stl, obj, mesh to editable step cad

About this gig
Do you have a 3D scan, STL, OBJ, or mesh file that is difficult to edit or use in CAD?
I will reverse engineer your 3D scans and convert STL/OBJ/mesh files to fully editable STEP CAD models. If you need accurate reverse engineering for manufacturing, 3D printing, or redesign, this gig is for you.
This service can include:
- Scan or mesh quality review
- Alignment and reference setup
- Scan-to-CAD and mesh-to-CAD reconstruction
- Parametric feature recreation
- Solid or surface modeling
- STL to STEP conversion
- Basic dimensional corrections
- STEP, SLDPRT, IGES, or STL export
The goal is a practical CAD model that is easier to edit, inspect, document, or prepare for the next manufacturing stage. Scan noise, missing areas, complex organic geometry, and required tolerances can change the workload, so every project is assessed before ordering.
I focus on organized files, clear scope, sensible modeling choices, and buyer-friendly communication.
Please message me before ordering with your scan or mesh file, required accuracy or tolerance, target file format, intended use, and any critical dimensions.
Delivery style preference
Please inform the freelancer of any preferences or concerns regarding the use of AI tools in the completion and/or delivery of your order.

FAQ
Which scan formats can I provide?
You may send STL, OBJ, PLY, or another commonly used mesh format. Large point clouds or uncommon formats should be discussed before ordering.
Will the final model have an editable feature tree?
A feature-based SolidWorks model can be provided when the shape and package support reconstruction. A STEP file normally contains editable solid or surface geometry but may not include a full feature history.
How do you handle missing or noisy scan areas?
Minor areas may be reconstructed using surrounding geometry and buyer-provided measurements. Significant missing areas may require additional references or a custom quote.
Can you handle a complex scan?
Yes, after inspecting the file. Complex surfaces, large data sets, and tight tolerances normally require a custom offer.
