FAQ
Do you produce a bar bending schedule?
Yes. I deliver a full BBS with bar marks, sizes, shapes, cut lengths, lap allowances, bend deductions, quantities and total weight per element and in summary formatted so a fabricator can order directly from it.
Can you do cut and fill from a grading plan?
Yes. Give me existing and proposed contours or spot elevations and I will calculate cut, fill, net import/export, swell and shrinkage factors, and haul quantities, with a grid or cross-section method shown.
Do you include formwork quantities?
Yes. Formwork is measured as contact area by element type, with separate lines for wall, column, beam, slab soffit and edge form, plus stripping and re-use assumptions where relevant.
Which codes do you work to?
ACI 318 and CRSI detailing for North America, BS 8666 and Eurocode 2 for the UK and Europe, AS 3600 for Australia, and BS/ACI hybrids for the Gulf. Tell me your code and I will follow it.
Do you break the takeoff down by pour?
Yes, available as an extra on Basic and Standard, included in Premium. Pour-by-pour breakdown lets you schedule concrete deliveries and track budget against actual on site.
Can you price from my ready-mix supplier's quote?
Absolutely. Upload the quote and I will use those exact mix designs and unit rates, adding pumping, placement labour, finishing, curing and waste so the estimate matches what you will actually be invoiced.
What drawings do you need?
Structural drawings (foundation plan, framing plans, sections, schedules and details) plus civil/grading if earthwork is in scope. Architectural sheets help me catch slab edges, depressions and finishes.
Can you handle infrastructure, not just buildings?
Yes. Retaining walls, culverts, box structures, pavements, bridge abutments, tanks and pump stations are all within scope. Send the drawings and I will confirm before you order.
