FAQ
What does music registration actually do for me?
Registering your songs lets BMI or ASCAP track where your music is played so you can collect the royalties you are owed. Without it, those earnings can go uncollected.
Should I choose BMI or ASCAP?
A songwriter can be affiliated with only one performing rights organization at a time. Tell me which one you already use, and if you are unsure, message me before ordering so we can sort it out.
Can you register my songs with both BMI and ASCAP?
No. A writer can belong to only one at a time. If you have co-writers, each writer registers with their own organization, and I will set up the splits correctly.
Do I need to pay any official fees?
Yes. Filing or membership fees charged by BMI, ASCAP or the U.S. Copyright Office are paid by you directly. My gig covers my service only.
What information do I need to send?
Your song titles, writer names, ownership percentages and your BMI or ASCAP choice. If you have co-writers or a publisher, include their details too.
Do you guarantee royalties or payouts?
No. Registration sets your songs up to be tracked and paid, but the amount you earn depends on how much your music is played. I cannot guarantee payout amounts.
Do you provide legal advice or draft contracts?
No. I assist with registration and filing only. For contracts or legal questions, you should speak with a licensed entertainment lawyer.
Can you register an EP, an album or my whole catalog?
Yes. The Premium package covers up to 10 songs, and you can add more with the "Additional song" extra. For larger catalogs or multi-artist projects, message me for a custom offer.
