Gig Summary
About this gig
Joomla upgrade, Joomla migration and redesign for sites still on Joomla 3 or 4 with outdated or old design. Joomla 3 lost security fixes in 2023, Joomla 4 in October 2025, and Joomla 5 is now security-only.
I move Joomla 3 to 5 or 6 (and Joomla 4 to 5 or 6), rebuild templates that cannot run on the new version, and modernize the design for phones and desktops.
What You Get:
- Security Check First: I scan before upgrading so a hidden backdoor is not carried into the new version.
- Safe Upgrade: Full backup, then the live move with minimal downtime.
- Extension Review: Each extension updated, replaced or rebuilt when it has no Joomla 5/6 version.
- Joomla Redesign: Responsive template rebuild (Helix Ultimate, YOOtheme or custom), SEO URLs and redirects kept.
- Multilingual: German, Dutch, French and Spanish sites with cookie consent and privacy pages in place.
Why Me:
- 16+ years of Joomla development for clients in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Poland and the US.
- I read and fix the code, not just press Update.
- Custom components, modules and plugins when no extension fits.

Also skilled in WooCommerce, Moodle LMS with AI tutors, UI/UX & security. Solid engineering + modern AI: your project doesn't just work, it thinks and runs itself. Tell me what you're building.
FAQ
Can you upgrade my Joomla 3 site without losing content?
Yes. I take a full backup first, then carry over articles, menus, users and media. If your template cannot run on Joomla 4 or later, I rebuild it so the design is kept or improved.
Will my extensions still work after the upgrade?
I check each one before starting and send you a list. Where a Joomla 5/6 version exists I update it; where none exists I replace it or rebuild the function as a small custom extension.
Is a Joomla 3 to 5 or 6 upgrade a one-click update?
No. Joomla 3 cannot update to 4 or later in one step, and its templates and many extensions do not carry over. I tell you which route fits your site, and the price, before I start.
My site was hacked. Can you still upgrade it?
Clean first, then upgrade. Moving an infected site to a new version can carry the backdoor along. I check for malware before any upgrade, and my malware removal gig covers full cleanup.
Will my Google rankings drop after the upgrade?
I keep your URLs where possible and add 301 redirects where they change, so existing search rankings and links keep working. A short settling period is normal after any major change.
