Canva, WordPress or custom code: which is best for my portfolio website?
Canva is the fastest and has no hosting bill, so it suits one-page and UGC portfolios. WordPress suits multi-page sites and blogs you update often. Custom code gives the most design freedom and speed. Tell me your goal and I'll recommend one before you order.
Can you design a UGC portfolio website with a rate card?
Yes. A UGC portfolio usually has a short intro, video and photo examples, brands you've worked with, testimonials, a rate card and a contact section. I can add your social stats too, so the same page works as a media kit.
Do I need hosting and a domain for my personal portfolio website?
Not always. A Canva portfolio can go live on a free Canva link with no hosting. WordPress and custom-coded sites need a domain and hosting in your own name, and I'll suggest reliable low-cost options. To use a domain you already own with Canva, you need a paid Canva plan.
Can I edit my portfolio website myself after delivery?
Yes. Standard and Premium include a video walkthrough on changing text, images and projects. Canva sites are edited like any Canva design and WordPress sites in a visual editor. Custom-coded sites need small code edits, which I explain, or I can make updates for you.
Can you write the text for my portfolio website?
Yes. On Standard and Premium I write your headline, About and services text from a short questionnaire and your notes. On Basic you send the text and I place it, or you can add copywriting as an extra.
Will my portfolio website be mobile friendly and SEO friendly?
Yes. Every site is checked on phone, tablet and desktop before delivery, and I set the page title, description and image alt text for search engines. Premium adds a fuller on-page SEO setup and speed optimization. I can't promise specific Google rankings.
What does the 1-year support cover?
For 12 months after delivery on Standard and Premium (30 days on Basic), I fix anything that breaks and answer your how-to questions. New pages, redesigns, new features and regular content updates are quoted separately.
Can you redesign my existing portfolio or personal website?
Yes. Send me the link and tell me what isn't working, for example a dated look or too few inquiries. I'll rebuild it on the platform that fits you best and keep the content worth keeping.
