About this Gig
You've finally finished your book. Congratulations!! Now what?
Get your work ready for publishing with an expert edit. I'll make sure your manuscript is not only free from technical, grammatical, and semantic errors, but also consistent and engaging with regard to things like voice, tone and diction.
Submit five pages (up to 1500 words) for an editing sample.
With the Consultation & Sample Edit, we'll establish:
- What level of editing you'll benefit from
- A timeline for the project
- Your expectations
As your editor, I'll point out technical errors or potential issues with clarity and offer solutions. I will not change your story or rewrite your work. As an author myself, I know how much thought, time, and heart go into writing a manuscript, and helping to refine your words while honoring your accomplishment and your story is the foundation of my work. All edits are suggestions. Final decisions about any changes are always 100% yours.

Do you help with rewrites?
As a part of my standard edits, I'll often suggest ways to correct errors or incongruities. More extensive revisions or coaching are things we can discuss and consider including in your editing package. Just ask!
What if I have questions about specific edits?
In most cases I'll do my best to explain any suggested edits, but you're more than welcome to ask questions! If you have questions after the first round of edits, I'm always happy to discuss solutions and alternatives.
