Why me?
I'm not an "influencer" who watched a Home Assistant video once. I run a production home on HA: • Solar array + Powerwall battery (real energy management) • Two electric vehicles • 30+ Z-Wave devices across a 2-story house • AI-powered camera detection (person, package, vehicle)
What hardware do I need?
At minimum, a Raspberry Pi 4 or 5 with a 64GB+ SSD (not SD card — they fail). I also support NUCs, Proxmox VMs, Docker containers, and existing Linux servers. For Z-Wave or Zigbee devices, you'll need a compatible USB stick (I recommend Zooz ZST39 for Z-Wave or Sonoff dongle for Zigbee).
Do I need smart devices already?
Not at all. I can set up your HA instance empty so it's ready when you buy devices later. Or I can walk you through what to buy.
Will my existing smart devices work?
HA supports 2,000+ integrations. Philips Hue, Lutron, Ring, Nest, TP-Link, Alexa devices, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings — chances are good. Message me your device list and I'll confirm.
Can I still use Alexa/Google Home after?
Yes. I can set up voice control as an add-on. Your existing voice commands will still work — HA adds MORE capability on top.
What if something breaks after setup?
Premium includes 30 days of support. Everyone else can message me with issues or purchase the weekly retainer for ongoing maintenance.
How do you access my system?
You'll set up a secure remote access method (Nabu Casa or Tailscale). I'll guide you through it. You can revoke my access at any time.
Do you use my API keys or credentials?
I'll guide you through creating them. I never use your personal credentials — only service-specific API keys you can rotate.
