Do you need a photo prepared specifically for laser engraving?
I optimize raster images for engraving in LightBurn with real production requirements in mind. My hands-on experience with CO2 and diode lasers helps me understand how contrast, shadows, highlights, resolution, and small details behave during engraving.
My service may include:
Grayscale conversion
Brightness, contrast, gamma, and tonal correction
Cropping and resizing
Background removal when included
Detail enhancement, sharpening, and noise reduction

Laser power, speed, interval, focus, and other settings depend on your machine and material. A test engraving is always recommended.

What type of photo should I provide?
Please provide the highest-resolution original image available. Clear photos with good lighting, visible details, and minimal compression usually produce the best engraving preparation results.
Can you prepare a color photo for laser engraving?
Yes. I can convert a color image to grayscale and adjust its contrast, brightness, shadows, highlights, sharpness, and tonal range for laser engraving.
Can you remove or simplify the background?
Yes. Background removal is included in the Standard and Premium packages. For complex backgrounds or detailed hair edges, please contact me before ordering.
Which materials can the image be prepared for?
My main focus is photo preparation for engraving on wood and plywood. Please tell me your material because different surfaces reproduce contrast and details differently.
Will I receive a LightBurn project file?
Yes. A LightBurn source file is included with every package when the project is prepared in LightBurn. You will also receive the final high-resolution JPG or PNG file.
Are laser speed and power settings included?
No. Settings depend on the laser, material, focus, air assist, lens, and machine condition. I prepare the image, but you should perform a material test before the final engraving.
Does this gig include physical laser engraving?
No. This is a digital image preparation service only. No physical product, engraving, material, or shipping is included.
Can any image be used?
Please submit only an image that you own or have permission to use. Very small, blurred, damaged, or heavily compressed images may require evaluation before ordering.
