Will this cost me monthly fees?
If we use Leaflet + OpenStreetMap, it is effectively free! If you want to use Google Maps (for Street View or Autocomplete), you will need a Google Cloud account (Google gives $200 free credit monthly, which covers most small businesses).
Can I update the stores later?
Yes. I can set it up so the map reads from a Google Sheet. Whenever you update the Google Sheet, the map on your website updates automatically.
