FAQ
Does it work in Google Sheets or Excel Online?
No. It's built for desktop Excel (2016, 2019, 2021, 365, Windows & Mac). The weekday checkboxes and some formatting don't carry over to Google Sheets or Excel Online, so please check this before ordering.
Do I need macros, VBA or add-ins?
No. Everything runs on standard Excel formulas (Excel 2007+ functions), so there are no macro warnings or add-ins, and it's safe to share with your team or clients.
How does the automatic scheduling work?
Enter the first start date, each task's duration and its dependency (Task ID). Start and end dates calculate automatically, skipping the rest days you tick. Change a duration and dependent tasks and Gantt bars shift.
How is task status decided?
Type each task's % progress on the Gantt sheet. Status (Not Started, On Track, At Risk, Overdue, Complete, Started Early) updates from progress and dates, then feeds the Task List and the dashboard.
Can you add more than 30 tasks?
Yes. The template has 30 pre-built rows, and the guide shows how to extend the Task List and Gantt together. I can also extend it for you to the size your project needs.
Can you customize phases, colours and branding?
Yes. I can replace the default phases (Planning, Design, Development, Testing, Launch) with yours, add your logo, project title and company name, and match your brand colours.
What do I need to send you to get started?
Your task list (or a rough outline), project start date, working days, phases/categories, and any logo or brand colours. No data yet? I'll set it up with sample data you can overwrite.
