What do you need from me to start working?
After you've placed an order (always with at least Commercial Rights added!) you'll be asked to upload a script and any other helpful material (videos, sheets, moodboards, etc.). There is also a text box for any imporant information you want to add.
Do I need to add the Commercial Rights?
Yes! The term "commercial" refers not to the type of content you order but to the commercial interest you have as a company or business when using my recording. It doesn’t matter if you order for an explainer video or an ad: You’re spending a company’s budget? Then it’s commercial.
Timed Audio Sync: Can you match the voice over timewise with an existing video?
Yes! I'll need the video file and the script for that. If there is no final video yet, I'll need timecode or a set length of time for each line or paragraph in the script. IMPORTANT: German tends to be much longer than English grammar. Your translation should match the original text length!
Do you speak native German? My client told me to look for "Hochdeutsch".
Yes, I was born and raised in Berlin, the capital city of Germany, where I'm still happy to live. I speak 100% Hochdeutsch, which means without any accents. Hochdeutsch is clearly the main language in German media formats of ANY kind–So I'm the right choice for your German content!
Have you worked for known companies? I don't see famous brands or logos of your clients.
Yes, I've worked for plenty of large companies you would know! But I care a lot for the law and German DSGVO/Urheberrecht, and so I won't do name dropping or showing off logos without allowance to do so. Same goes for you—Your information will be safe with me!
What should we start with: The video creation or the voice over recording?
I'd suggest to create a rough video version to an existing script. This video gives an important impression on the atmosphere and needed speech style. Then the Artist records the VO freely: Calm and with time for intonation and emphasis. In the end you edit the video to the VO for perfection!
