Ethiopia
Amharic translator for software, docs and IT content
About this Gig
Amharic is my first language. I am a software developer and IT instructor in Addis Ababa, and technical content is the work I take on.
Most Amharic translation fails in the same place. The translator reaches a term like cache, endpoint or rollback, then either leaves it in English or invents something. I spent five years running systems and two building Laravel applications, so I know what the term does before I choose a word for it.
What I translate:
- Software interfaces and app strings
- Developer and API documentation
- Help centre and support articles
- E-learning and IT training material
- Product pages with technical content
Every order is proofread before delivery. Formatting is preserved from Standard upward. On Premium I build a glossary of your product terms so the wording stays consistent in later work.
Placeholders, variables and code stay untouched. {name}, %s and {{count}} come back exactly as they went in.
Send me the text, who reads it, and your deadline before ordering. I will tell you which package fits, or tell you if none of them do.

FAQ
Do you translate Amharic to English too?
Yes, both directions, same pricing. Tell me which way round when you message.
What file formats do you accept?
DOCX, XLSX, CSV, plain text, Google Docs, and localisation files including JSON, PO and .strings. For localisation files I translate values only and leave keys alone.
Will the Amharic display correctly on my site or app?
I deliver Unicode Ge'ez script, which is the standard. If your app shows boxes or broken characters, the cause is usually a font without Ethiopic coverage rather than the text. Send me a screenshot and I will tell you what to change.
Can you handle a large document or an ongoing project?
Yes. Message me first with the word count and deadline and I will send a custom offer.
How do you handle terms with no established Amharic word?
Some technical terms have no settled Amharic equivalent. I keep the English term where that is what Ethiopian users actually say, and translate where a real word exists. I will flag these choices on delivery so you can overrule me.
