Data Cleaning & Quality Checks

Validation of claims and premium data checking for duplicates, missing values, negative/outlier movements, inconsistent exposure periods, and reconciliation breaks to ensure your triangles are built on reliable, model-ready data.

Triangulation

Construction of incremental triangles, shifted triangles, and shifted cumulative triangles, with checks for consistency across development periods and identification of any distorted diagonals or reporting lags.

Loss Development Factors (LDFs)

Calculation of age-to-age development factors, selection of appropriate averaging methods (simple, weighted, volume-weighted), and tail factor selection where relevant.

IBNR Calculation

Estimation of IBNR using Chain-Ladder (and Bornhuetter-Ferguson or Expected Loss Ratio where more appropriate), with clearly documented, defensible assumptions behind every selection not just a mechanical output.

Deliverable

A clean, well-documented Excel workbook showing every step (raw data cleaned data triangles LDFs IBNR), plus a short summary of key assumptions and any data issues flagged along the way.
